□ KoPHWA announced the successful completion of the 3rd Korea Population Festival, jointly hosted by the National Assembly Forum on Responding to Low Birth Rates and a Shrinking Society and the Presidential Committee on Ageing Society and Population Policy.

□ The festival was supported by four government ministries—the Ministry of Health and Welfare, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family—as well as metropolitan and provincial governments across Korea.

□ The awards ceremony was held on July 9 at the National Assembly Members’ Office Building. The event began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the exhibition, followed by a slogan performance, a screening of highlights from the winning entries, the awards presentation, and a talk session where the Grand Prize winners shared the stories and messages behind their works.

□ At the ceremony, Rep. Baek Hye-ryun, Chair of the National Assembly Forum on Responding to Low Birth Rates and a Shrinking Society, said, “The solution to the challenge of low birth rates lies in creating a society where people can confidently raise children while continuing their careers. The National Assembly will do its best in policymaking and legislation so that having and raising children can become a natural source of happiness in everyday life, rather than a special sacrifice.”

□ Rep. Baek Sun-hee also shared her congratulations, stating, “I sincerely congratulate the Korea Population Festival. The National Assembly will continue to make greater efforts to create a society where people can feel supported in having and raising children.”

□ Kyoung Seon Kim, the president of KoPHWA said, “The Korea Population Festival is a meaningful occasion where people come together to recognize the precious value of family and care through works created by the public. We hope that, in the future, population issues will no longer be viewed as difficult and overwhelming challenges, but as topics for open communication and shared understanding that connect with everyone’s lives.”
