□ Korea Population Health and Welfare Association(KoPHWA) (President Dr. Kyung-sun Kim) is hosting the “3rd Korea Population Festival (2026): Photo and Short-Form Video Contest” to sustain the recent rebound in the total fertility rate through public participation.

□ The contest is open to all citizens of the Republic of Korea who are interested in population issues and will be conducted in two categories: photography and short-form video.

□ Submitted works will be evaluated, and a total of 39 entries will be selected for awards, including Grand Prize (4 works), Excellence Awards (5 works), Merit Awards (10 works), and Honorable Mentions (20 works).

□ The award-winning works will be unveiled during the commemorative week of Population Day at the award ceremony of the “3rd Korea Population Festival” (scheduled for early July at the National Assembly), along with an exhibition. Award recipients will also have the opportunity to share their reflections and present their works.

□ President Dr. Kyung-sun Kim stated, “With the total fertility rate reaching 0.8 in 2025 and showing a rebound for two consecutive years after hitting a record low in 2023, Korea stands at a critical turning point to sustain this momentum.”

○ She added, “Through this contest, we aim to share the realities of population challenges as experienced by the public and to amplify meaningful messages for addressing them, thereby fostering hope for a continued recovery in the fertility rate.”
