□ KoPHWA and MOHW hosted the 「Commemorative Event of the 20th Pregnant Women’s Day」 on October 10th, inviting over 150 expectant mothers and their families.

○ Pregnant Women’s Day, designated on October 10, was created to raise public awareness and encourage social support for pregnant women. The first celebration was held in 2006, marking year 2025 as the 20th anniversary of the event.

○ This year’s slogan, “You, Beautifully Carrying the Future,” highlights pregnancy and childbirth as essential values that shape a sustainable future for society. It also embodies and seeks to spread a message of respect and appreciation for expectant mothers and their families throughout society.

□ The event featured a variety of interactive programs, including consultation booths on prenatal and postnatal depression, safe medication during pregnancy, and maternity healthcare and policies, as well as a roulette event. The celebration also included an awards ceremony recognizing individuals who have contributed to creating a pregnancy & childbirth friendly environment, improving maternal health, and promoting a culture of care for pregnant women. The program was rounded out with performances and special lectures for pregnant women.

○ One attendee, who is currently four months pregnant with her second child, shared, “I knew about Pregnant Women’s Day, but I was surprised to learn that such a diverse and meaningful event has been held for 20 years. It was an even more special and joyful experience to be part of the 20th anniversary celebration.”
