□ The 2nd Korea Population Festival Awards Ceremony, jointly organized by ‘National Assembly Forum on Addressing Low Birthrates and Shrinking Society’ and ‘Presidential Committee on Ageing Society and Population Policy’ was successfully held. This ceremony was supported by four government ministries(Ministry of Health and Welfare, Ministry of Education, Ministry of Employment and Labor, Ministry of Gender Equality and Family) and 17 local governments across the country.

○ The festival aimed to raise nationwide awareness of demographic changes, fostering a platform where citizens could actively participate in generating practical policies and seeking solutions to low birth rates.

□ The event centered around the theme: "Together Raising Children, Together Shaping the Future". A public call for submissions for drawings and policy proposals attracted numerous entries, with a professional judging panel selecting the final 48 works: 21 youth drawings, 21 adult drawings, and 6 policy proposals.

○ The awards ceremony took place on July 8th at the National Assembly Members' Office Building, starting with a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the exhibition of winning works. The event also included a slogan performance of “Together Raising Children, Together Shaping the Future,” a highlight video of the award-winning pieces, and live presentations by the policy proposal winners.

□ Key Highlights of the Awarded Works:

○ Youth Drawing Category: The Grand Prize was awarded to "The Continuation of Love," a piece that delicately portrayed the ongoing and continuous nature of love within the family, symbolizing the intimate world of familial bonds.

○ Adult Drawing Category: The Grand Prize went to "The Daily Life of Happy Families," which encapsulated the most memorable and joyful moments of family life in a single illustration, portraying the happiness found in marriage, childbirth, and parenting.

○ Policy Proposal Category: The Grand Prize winner, "The Parenting Lab" team, presented the “Mindful Parenting Subscription Service,” a proposal that suggested providing a public subscription service for parenting resources. This would ease the burdens of parents’ planning labor while complementing existing childcare policies. The proposal received widespread praise for its innovation and practicality.

□ Samsik Lee, president of KoPHWA, stated, “We hope that 2nd Korea Population Festival has been a meaningful time for citizens to reflect on real-life policies that impact their daily lives. KoPHWA will continue to work on actions aimed at addressing population decline and creating a sustainable future together.”

□ The awarded pieces were displayed at the National Assembly Members' Office Building from July 8 to 11, and will be part of a traveling exhibition across 8 regions until October.
