PPFK had implemented national population and family planning programmes to control population growth and promote the prosperity of every family for the last 40 years since its foundation in 1961.

Thanks to the positive partnership of every Korean, strengthened assistance from the government and every effort of family planning fieldworkers all over the country, Korea recorded a great success in lowering the population growth rate below 1% in 1988 rapidly in such a short time as less than 30 years.

However, PPFK has recently been faced with a national request to implement various reproductive health projects to enhance the quality of life of people. Nevertheless, Korea has still some kinds of social issues such as frequent induced abortion, strong son-preference norm, etc. But we will do our best to create a healthy society in which gender equality will be guaranteed and our sons and daughters be born and grown up healthy by settling those social issues as soon as possible.

PPFK, one of the leading NGOs in Korea, has provided diversified kinds of services for Koreans by carrying out various medical examinations and services, sexuality educational and counselling activities, maternal and child health programme, and family welfare programme such as welfare programme each for the aged and children.
